Karan Johar is an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter and television host. He has done cameo roles in couple of movies as an actor and also has the hobby of costume designing. He is well known for his direction skills and has produced some of the highest grossing films of Bollywood in India and abroad too. He was seen playing a negative role of media magnate Khambatta in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’.
Karan Johar was born on May 25, 1972 to Yash Johar and Hiroo Johar in Mumbai. His father was also famous as a film producer and was the founder of Dharma Productions. Karan has completed his schooling from Greenlawns High School and attended H.R.College of Commerce and Economics and did his masters degree in French. Being a son of legendary producer, he was always influenced by Indian Cinema. In 1995, Karan entered in the film industry as an actor and was seen portraying Shahrukh Khan’s (Raj) close friend in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

Karan Johar recently became a father to twins – baby boy Yash and baby girl Roohi via surrogacy. They were born on February 7, 2017, Andheri’s Masrani Hospital. The babies were born around two months premature and weighed around 1.5 kg each. Karan’s babies were in the hospital for a month and are now all healthy and home.

Karan started his career by assisting Aditya Chopra and helping him in screenplay of movies.
Along with that he started designing costumes for Shahrukh Khan in movies like Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Duplicate (1998), Mohabbatein (2000), Main Hoon Na, Veer-Zaara (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007).
